第26回めとなる 「グローバル・デジコンサロン 026」は、日本時間（JST）で2023年12月9日（土）10:00〜12:00、米国西海岸時間（UTC-7）で2023年12月8日（金）17:00〜19:00、グローバルなスケールで開催します。テーマは「 ITday Japan 2023〜ChatGPT大騒動と激動の生成AI革命」です。
2023年は、間違いなくChatGPTに代表される「激動の生成AI革命」の年でした。ChatGPTが一般公開されたのは、2022年11月30日。人間と自然に対話をすることができ、しかも、賢い。「これは、凄い！」ということになって、2ヶ月後の2023年1月末には、世界最速でアクティブユーザー数1億ユーザーを突破。その後も、次々と話題を提供し続けたChatGPTですが、極め付けは、2023年11月6日、初めてとなる開発者向け会議「Open AI Dev Day」を開催し、カスタマイズChatGPTを自分で作れるGPT Builderや、それを販売できるGPT Storeを発表するなど、より一層の飛躍を印象づける発表をした直後、CEOのSam Altmanが11月17日に突如解任され、5日後の11月22日に復帰するという大騒動を引き起こしたことでした。まさに今、私たちが「激動の生成AI革命」時代を生きているのだということを強烈に印象づける出来事でした。
「IT Day」とは、「IT革命記念日」のことです。1968年12月9日、ダグラス・エンゲルバートが「The DEMO」、すなわち「人々の知性を高め、人々の協力を促進し、人類が直面する深刻な問題を解決できるようなコンピュータ・ネットワーク」というデモンストレーションを行い、それがIT革命の出発点となりました。私たちは2018年12月10日（日本時間）に、インターネット商用化25周年、ダグラス・エンゲルバートThe DEMO50周年を記念して、アラン・ケイ基調講演「IT25・50」シンポジウム（ http://it2550.net/news/190522_alankay_keynote_j3/ ）を開催して以来、毎年12月、「IT Day」と題したシンポジウムを開催してきました。「The DEMO」55周年にあたる今年のテーマは、まさに今起こりつつある大きなパラダイムシフト「生成AI革命とは何か？」です。
今回のパネリストは、Croquet Corporation 共同設立者の大島芳樹さん、デジタルハリウッド大学大学院教授の橋本大也さん、株式会社テクノコア シニアエディター／コミュニティストラテジストの松尾公也さんです。ロサンゼルス在住の大島芳樹さんには、米国における「生成AI革命」の最新動向をお聞きしたいと思います。そして、今や「ChatGPTといえばこの人」ということで、あちこちで講演に呼ばれ、おそらく日本最多の講演数記録を更新しつつある橋本大也さんには、最先端のChatGPT-4＆Copilot活用法と、それをどう自分の仕事や人生に生かしていったらいいかということ、そして、他界した妻の歌声と写真をAIで生成したミュージックビデオ「Desperado by 妻音源とりちゃん［AI]］」が「第1回 AIアートグランプリ」最優秀作（グランプリ）を受賞した松尾公也さんには、マルチモーダルな生成AI活用最前線についてお聞きしたいと思います。
今回のこの「The DEMO」55周年記念「ITday Japan 223」では、ChatGPT大騒動に見る「激動の生成AI革命」が、IT革命の歴史の中でどう位置付けられるのか、そして、それが私たちの仕事スタイルやライフスタイル、そして、社会の仕組み全体をどう変えていくのか、といったことについてみなさんと議論しながら明らかにしていきたいと思います。

2023 is undoubtedly the year of the “turbulent generative AI revolution” represented by ChatGPT. ChatGPT was released to the public on November 30, 2022. They can interact naturally with humans and are smart. “This is amazing!” Two months later, at the end of January 2023, it became the fastest service in the world to surpass 100 million active users. After that, ChatGPT continued to provide topics one after another, but the climax was on November 6, 2023, when it held its first developer conference “Open AI Dev Day” and introducd GPT Builder, which allows you to create your own customized ChatGPT, GPTs,and
GPT Store you can sell your own GPTs. Immediately after making announcements that gave the impression of an even greater leap forward, CEO Sam Altman was abruptly dismissed on November 17th, and announced that he returned five days later on November 22nd. It was what caused the scandal. This event gave me a strong impression that we are now living in an era of a turbulent generative AI revolution.
“IT Day” means “IT Revolution Anniversary”. On December 9, 1968, Douglas Engelbart gave “The DEMO,” or “demonstration of a computer network that could make people more intelligent, more cooperative, and capable of solving the gravest problems facing mankind.” It was the starting point of the IT revolution. On December 10, 2018 (Japan time), we held the IT25/50 symposium, a keynote speech by Alan Kay, to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the commercialization of the Internet and the 50th anniversary of Douglas Engelbart’s DEMO ( http://it2550.net/news/190522_alankay_keynote_j3/ ).
And every December, we have held a symposium titled “IT Day”. This year, the 55th anniversary of “The DEMO,” the theme will be “What is the generative AI revolution?”, a major paradigm shift that is occurring right now.
This time’s panelists are Croquet Corporation co-founder Yoshiki Oshima-san, Digital Hollywood University Graduate School Professor Daiya Hashimoto-san, and Techno Core Inc. Senior Editor/Community Strategist Kimiya Matsuo-san.
We would like to ask Yoshiki Oshima-san, who lives in Los Angeles, about the latest trends of the “generative AI revolution” in the United States. And we would like to ask Daiya Hashimoto-san, who is probably breaking the record for the most lectures about ChatGPT in Japan, about “How to utilize the cutting-edge ChatGPT-4 & Copilot?,” “How can we make use of it in our work and life?.” And we would like to ask Kimiya Matsuo-san, who won the Grand Prix for his work at the 1st AI Art Grand Prix, about his work at the forefront of multimodal generative AI utilization.
In this “ITday Japan 2023,” commemorating the 55th anniversary of “The DEMO,” we would like to discuss how the “turbulent generative AI revolution” seen in the ChatGPT scandal is positioned in the history of the IT revolution, and how it affects our work styles and life styles, and how it would change the entire structure of our society.

東京都生まれ。東京工業大学大学院在学中の2000年に、ロサンゼルスにあるWalt Disney Imagineering R&Dに参加し、ディズニーのテーマパークアトラクションのプロトタイプ開発などに従事。当時からアラン・ケイ博士が率いるグループの活動に参加し教育向けプログラミング環境Squeak Etoysの研究開発に主導的な立場で携わる。ケイ博士が創立したViewpoints Research Institute、SAP Labs CDG, Y Combinator Researchを経て、現在は共同設立したCroquet Corporationにて活動中。
2006年に東京工業大学から超並列プログラミングシステムの設計・実装技術により博士号を取得。2022年8月、静岡大学客員教授に就任。

Yoshiki was born in Tokyo, Japan. While he was attending the graduate school of Tokyo Institute of Technology, he joined Walt Disney Imagineering R&D in 2000 as an intern and helped developing prototypes of Disney’s theme park attractions. He also has been involved in Alan Kay’s research group, and participated in the research and development effort of education programming environment Squeak Etoys and later took the leading role. Yoshiki has worked at the Viewpoints Research Institute, SAP Labs CDG, and Y Combinator Research all of which Dr. Kay founded or helped found. Currently, he is at the Croquet Corporation, which he is a co-founder.
He was awarded his Ph.D. for designing and implementing a massively parallel particle programming system from Tokyo Institute of Technology.

Born in 1959. After graduating from Tokyo University of Foreign Studies, he got a job at Dempa Shimbun, a daily newspaper specializing in the technology industry. He translates articles such as “Apple is preparing a successor computer for Lisa”, “It is codenamed McCintosh”, and so on. In 1990, he moved to Softbank Japan and launched the first full DTP weekly magazine “PC WEEK”, and he served as the founding editor-in-chief of “MacUser”, “Beginners’ Mac”, and Softbank’s first paid e-mail magazine “Macintosh WIRE (MacWIRE)”. Transfer this “MacWIRE” to web media and launch “ZDNet Mac”. He was in charge of the article selection for the top page of “ITmedia” and the editorial desk of “ITmedia NEWS”. From September 2022, he participated in the emerging web media “Techno Edge” operated by Techno Core. Since 1978, he has been involved with synthesizers and since 1982 computers.He has been consistently involved in reporting on computers and networks as media.
